Michael Dunn to Direct Music Video

Plans were announced today to shoot a music video for “Hallway.” The song plays in a different version over the end credits of the short film “The Bet” also directed by Dunn. Written by Rachel Bellinsky of Switchyard and performed by Justine Bellinsky of MoonVine, “Hallway” was remixed into a single version by Dunn with the intention of including the video on the DVD release of “The Bet” — available on December 18th. The concept revolves around Justine Bellinsky being stalked by Walt Turner, reprising his role as James from the short film, in an homage to the seduction scene in the film Legend. No shoot dates have been set.

Pulpmovies Review: “Utterly Engrossing”

Pulpmovies has posted its review of “The Bet.” One of the few 5-Star films in their history, the review was glowing (and, they got it). “What really sets ‘The Bet’ apart is the atmosphere of grimy desperation that pervades the entire film — not just for the woman, but also for the two men. These are people who really have reached the end of the line and have no way out, as is powerfully underlined with the film’s closing scene.”

Fatally-Yours on “The Bet”: “Well-Paced, Intelligent, Eerie and Intriguing”

Fatally-Yours has published a very positive review of “The Bet.” An excerpt:
The mood of the film is immediately set by the low lighting and dark, grimy look of the film. The foreboding atmosphere is intensified by the eerie and punctuated score... The mysterious hallway and its two gambling inhabitants, flashes of the woman’s past and the ending all point to a far “bigger picture” perspective. Though the film’s fantastic ending is open for interpretation, it contains a supernatural element that led me to believe the two men were much greater and more important than they first seemed. They hold the key to people’s fates and gamble with human souls. I will leave it at that, because I don’t want to give too much away, but it has an ending that left me awestruck.

City Life Weighs In

In an article about CineVegas, City Life had this too say about “The Bet.”
Michael Dunn’s stunningly shot (in HD), enigmatic and profoundly disturbing “The Bet” [is] a metaphysical abduction drama worthy of David Lynch himself. Expect great things of Dunn.
